Hello
I am a born again believer in Jesus Christ and have been a disciple of Jesus the past 24 years. I have a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling from Calvary Chapel University. I am also certified as a Biblical Counselor with the International Association of Biblical Counselors. I have been counseling since the end of 2022 but have discipled women for many years through church. I am an active member of the Biblical Counseling Academy for ongoing support and have attended Calvary Chapel of Fredericksburg with my family the past 19 years.
I was baptized as a baby and raised in the church. I learned the Scriptures, but did not come to have a personal saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ until I was 26 years old and living as a single Mom. I was baptized as an adult at 33. I am now married to my husband Bob and we are a blended family. We just celebrated our 22nd anniversary this summer. We have five children together and have enjoyed homeschooling the past 18 years with only two sons left to graduate! My husband is retired and enjoys doing school with our youngest son.
My Story
I dreamed of being a psychologist when I was younger through the encouragement of my Mom, though I don't think I entirely knew what that meant. My Dad wanted me to be a nurse. I took psychology as an elective in high school when we lived in FL. We moved back up to VA and I majored in psychology at George Mason University earning my Bachelor of Science in 1997. I enjoyed learning about people and the way we work. But something was missing that I wasn't even aware of.
The Lord drew me to Himself in 2001. I was living for myself up to that point and found myself a single Mom. A friend from work invited me to a Bible study and another friend in my neighborhood shared her Bible study workbook with me. I started studying the Bible and after a while I thought to myself, "This is the best psychology book!" It included everything I needed to live a good life and please God. I threw out all the other texts! I began my journey of growing in grace and having my mind renewed by His Word daily. Psychology might be able to accurately describe people and we can relate to the findings, but it does not know the cause or the cure. The Bible is where we find those answers and can truly be set free! My heart is that others would find the hope and healing I have found. There is no hope in a mental health label that dooms you to a life of bondage to psychiatric medication. The chemical imbalance theory is a myth. We need to lean on the One who formed us, turn away from our sins and embrace the One who saved us by His death on the cross. Many Christians are deceived and believing the lies that are being perpetuated by our current mental health system. My prayer is that the eyes of the Body of Christ would be open to the truth and the church would get back to the care of souls that we are called to!

Statement of Faith
I believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, inerrant in the original writings.

I believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension into the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

I believe that the lost and sinful man must be saved, and that man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
I believe in the present work of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

I believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved, they that are saved to the resurrection of life, they that are unsaved to the resurrection of damnation.

I believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Jesus Christ.
